Fan Works
If Riftguard has inspired you to make something, I want to see it. Fan art, edits, videos, cosplay and fic are all welcome, and being tagged in one never stops making my day. Find me at @tasha.meldan.
Keep it non-commercial
Fan works are for sharing, not selling. Prints, merchandise, commissions or anything else sold using Riftguard’s names, characters or world need my written permission first. Email danfron@tashameldan.com and we can talk. Please credit the book when you post, and don’t present your work as official.
The artwork belongs to the artist
The Riftguard cover is hand-illustrated by Hailey Puent (@haileypuent.art). Please don’t use the cover or any artwork from the book as a base, reference upload or input for anything you make, and that includes AI tools. Draw your own Saiya. Hailey’s is hers.
On AI tools
Books and original artwork are human craft, built from years of practice and plenty of failure. I feel strongly about that. I also know some readers use AI tools to make fan videos and images for fun, and I’m not going to police personal, non-commercial projects made from your own ideas about the world. That isn’t me endorsing AI in the creative process. It’s me being realistic about the tools people already have.
If you do use them, one small ask. These tools use a lot of energy, so please consider planting a tree, giving to a reforestation charity or making a greener choice somewhere else in your week. It’s a request, not a rule.
